'untuckem' Fever Sweeping Wisconsin
WAUSAU, Wis., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- If you've seen the final out of a
Milwaukee victory this season, you may have noticed the players untuck their
jerseys and wondered why. Based on a tribute to one player's father, the
untucking of the shirts represents the end of a hard day's work.
Now, whether they're watching at the ballpark, at home or at their
favorite bar,Milwaukee baseball fans are joining their team's victory
celebrations with the official "untuckem" shirt, available at
http://www.untuckem.com.
"We want the entire crowd at Miller Park -- and entire state ofWisconsin
-- to 'untuckem' with the team after each win, as they aim to finally clinch
that elusive post-season berth," says "untuckem" creator Gerald Mortensen.
"'untuckem' isWisconsin. It'sMilwaukee baseball. It's about getting the
job done and understanding the value of hard work."
Mortensen is a lifelong Brewers fan,Wausau area native and creative
entrepreneur. Eastbay -- an iconicWisconsin brand -- also took an early
interest and has partnered with "untuckem." "untuckem" has also received a
positive response from several prominentWisconsin companies that have
expressed an interest in partnering to take "untuckem" to the next level.
Partnership information and all of the latest updates will be available at
untuckem.com.
Mortensen says fans have had an overwhelmingly positive response to the
concept. "Milwaukee fans have been through a lot in the last 25 years.
Ownership has now put the team in a position to win. Fans appreciate that and
want to be a part of it. Maybe 'untuckem' is the way they become part of it."
Mortensen stressed that "untuckem" is a much bigger idea than just a
Brewer victory. "It's an identity. It's brotherhood. It's something that
Milwaukee baseball fans can own.New York or L.A. fans can't relate to
'untuckem' like theMilwaukee fan."
To build on the excitement, the untuckem team has contactedWisconsin
Governor Jim Doyle, proposing that he change the state motto from "Forward" to
"untuckem" for a day if the team clinches a playoff spot, or at the very
least, have the Governor wear one of the shirts at a playoff game.
