Law Enforcement Scholarship Puts North Texas Craig Crawford Memorial Scholarship On The National Radar

Program Assists High School and Law Enforcement Students in Need

With 17 academic funding scholarships for high school students and ten years of numerous law enforcement peace officer academy certifications under its belt in a short handful of years' operations, the Craig Crawford Memorial Scholarship (CCMS) "> is taking its programs national.

The North Texas charity sprouted in 2002 to honor the service of Mineral Wells Detective Craig Crawford. Through the scholarship, law enforcement students receive the monetary support they need to complete training, education and/or licensing programs. Annually, CCMS assists a minimum of four high school students and one law enforcement peace officer academy student.

Scholarships are awarded based on financial needs of students, and applicants must demonstrate an enthusiastic desire to give back to their community. Qualities of candidates considered for the assistance reflect a strong desire to succeed and a passion to serve, grounded in service to the public.

The CCMS engages local law enforcement communities in charitable activities by raising money to assist needy individuals. The volunteers organize community activities to raise money for the scholarship but rely heavily on the continual generosity of the public to continue its track-record of success.
