Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer Ed Moses Makes a Splash with Par and Poker

TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Joyner-Walker Foundation today announced that Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer Ed Moses is confirmed to play in the Par and Poker Celebrity Challenge for Charity during Super Bowl week on Thursday, January 29, 2009, inTampa, Florida. The second annual tournament hosted by NFL Super Bowl Champion Seth Joyner and PGA Golfer Andy Walker, consists of two parts: an 18-hole golf tournament and a No Limit Texas Hold'em poker tournament.

Ed Moses may have broken world records and won gold and silver medals for swimming, but the 2009 Par and Poker tournament is bringing him back to his very first love -- golf. He originally planned to play golf in college and has since returned to the course with a vengeance after his retirement from competitive swimming.

"We are very excited to have Ed Moses take another swing at Par and Poker," said Co-Founder Seth Joyner. "We are honored to have someone of his stature join the rest of our headliners at the star-studded event."

Other confirmed sports stars include NFL Greats Keith Byers and Lawrence Taylor, and Baseball Legends Ozzie Smith and Chili Davis. Celebrities, sponsors and guests will tee off at TPC Tampa Bay's exquisitely manicured course.
