FRANCE 24 Selects Autonomy to Enhance Video Archive

CAMBRIDGE, England andSAN FRANCISCO, California, September 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced thatFRANCE 24, the leading French international news channel broadcast on a 24/7 basis, has selected Autonomy's Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) and Rich Media Management solution to manage and enhance its video archive. The archive currently has over 50,000 rich media files, consisting of the channel's daily broadcasts in French, Arabic and English, as well as other purchased programs, and is added to daily. With Autonomy's Meaning-based Computing technologies, the broadcaster will be able to automatically organize and categorize large volumes of multi-media content, eliminating the cost and time associated with the manual aggregation and meta-tagging of files.

FRANCE 24 selected Autonomy's fast, scalable and language independent technology to improve employees' efficiency and productivity, whilst ensuring that data assets are fully leveraged. The new system will assist the broadcaster's Document Specialists by automatically indexing content to make it more easily accessible on internal and external sites.FRANCE 24's journalists will also benefit from an improved user experience with increased speed and search relevancy on all file formats within the archive, including text, audio and video.
