Kevin Johnson called 'dangerous choice' for Mayor
'Communities of Color' coalition calls Kevin Johnson a 'dangerous' choice for Mayor; major press conference at Johnson's HQ Tuesday
A coalition of members of key Black and Latino organizations, will make a major announcement concerning its endorsement in the upcoming Mayoral Election TUESDAY, at 10 a.m. at Kevin Johnson Campaign Headquarters, 16th and U Streets.
Members of the NAACP, La Raza Network, Justice Reform Coalition, Chicano Consortium, Latin American Labor Council, Nation of Islam and By Any Means Necessary are among those who will participate at the news conference.
Calling themselves "Communities of Color for Heather," the group will state that Johnson is a "dangerous choice" for people of color to support, citing Johnson's "problems with young girls, being a slumlord and in the pocket of development special interests, his lack of truthfulness and his problems at St. Hope Academy."
The "Communities of Color for Heather" group said it will begin a major outreach program immediately, which will culminate with a NAACP/La Raza Network voter registration day Oct. 18 at the Capitol.
