Pelosi Statement on Hurricane Ike
WASHINGTON, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on Hurricane Ike, a massive storm churning through theGulf of Mexico whose outer edges are already hittingGalveston, Texas:
"The thoughts and prayers of the entire Congress, and indeed all Americans, are with the people who live in areas in the path of Hurricane Ike.
"In times like these, the quick action taken by government officials and local residents to minimize the loss of life is critical. Neighbors rely upon neighbors, families open their homes to those in need, and good Samaritans come to the aid of many.
