Freedom Alliance Sponsors Appreciation Dinner for Wounded Troops
On September 8, thirty-five wounded Marines from the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland enjoyed a Troop Appreciation Dinner at the local Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Sponsored by Freedom Alliance, the dinner was held to say "thank you" to the Marines and their families for their service and sacrifice.
"On behalf of Freedom Alliance and millions of Americans who share our sentiments, thank you for your service in our armed forces, the dedication you bring to your job, and the honor with which you serve our nation," Freedom Alliance Director of Programs Calvin K. Coolidge said to the soldiers. "Tonight, we hope to show our appreciation for the sacrifices that you and your families."
The Troop Appreciation dinner for the Marines at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda was one of twenty-four similar events held by Freedom Alliance so far this year, in support of our troops. Freedom Alliance has hosted Troop Appreciation Dinners for service men and women at Fort Campbell in Kentucky; Fort Bliss in Texas; Fort Carson in Colorado; Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas; McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey; Fort Bragg in North Carolina, among others.
After the event Coolidge concluded, "Freedom Alliance goes to great lengths to make these Appreciation Dinners as enjoyable and relaxing as possible for our service members. We feel that it is important to remind them that there is a grateful nation that is supporting them."
In addition to hosting Troop Appreciation Dinners, Freedom Alliance distributes "Gifts from Home" care packages to military personnel deployed overseas and provides scholarships to children of military heroes, among other programs. For more information please visit www.FreedomAlliance.org.
