o Scan Station 100 Plus allows office workers to communicate and exchange information really fast

September 10, 2008 - Businesses from large to small can now take advantage of new features in Kodak's award winning network scanner that make it even easier to send and share information across their networks or across the world.

Replacing the KODAK Scan Station 100, the new Scan Station 100 Plus is a standalone scanner unit featuring a colour LCD screen so there is no necessity to be connected to a dedicated PC. Now featuring inbound/outbound FAX capability, the new version offers other enhanced benefits designed to save organisations time and money in four key areas: ease of use, security, system administration and ergonomics:

o Ease of use features include the ability to add pages to a batch in progress, being able to create individual PDF files from a multi page document batch, and user selectable OCR language.

o Experience peace of mind with more security features such as a secure login using Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), PDF private key encryption, and the option to enable/disable scanning to portable USB drives.

o Enhancements for system administrators include activity logging and tracking capabilities, task groupings for preselected profiles, and a fast scanning feature that allows scanning to begin immediately.

o The Scan Station 100 Plus has hallmark featured ergonomic design benefits such as automatic feeding and a rotatable touch screen, and new "whisper quiet" operation to benefit the work environment.

Able to manage a recommended scanning workload of up to 1,000 pages per day, the Scan Station 100 Plus can scan both sides of documents in colour, black-and-white or grayscale at speeds of up to 50 images per minute.  With no host PC required, the device connects to  network infrastructure using 10/100 Base T Ethernet.

Hauke Fast, EAMER Product Marketing Manager, Document Imaging, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group, says, "Managing, organising and transmitting information can present a significant challenge to small and medium sized businesses, as well as departments within larger organisations where budgets and resources tend to be tight. The Scan Station 100 Plus offers a complete document sharing device that's easy and affordable - all with one compact machine that works within virtually any existing office network."

The new Scan Station 100 Plus has a list price of €2,995.
