Intergy EHR by Sage on Short List of EMR Market Leaders
TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- In a report released this week by
Health Industry Insights, Intergy EHR by Sage earned top scores for ambulatory
electronic health records (EHR).
The report, titled Healthcare Provider Industry Short List: Ambulatory
Electronic Health Records and Electronic Medical Records, identifies the
leading ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical
record (EMR) solutions. The report is designed to help physician groups of all
sizes to select the EMR that best suits their practice, IT environment and
business needs, and named Sage among 10 companies whose solutions deliver
exceptional levels of performance, usability and productivity to physicians.
This is the first time that Health Industry Insights has issued a list of
the country's leading ambulatory EMR vendors. The research focused on vendors
with significant market share, more than $10 million in revenue in 2007, novel
technologies and/or solutions that were certified by the Certification
Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT).
Of the more than 100 EMR vendors, the report focused on just a few
industry leaders. "It would be impractical to evaluate every vendor, so we
narrowed the field down to a short list that is representative of the EMR
industry with the goal of highlighting characteristics that physicians should
actively seek -- and avoid -- when purchasing a system," stated Judy Hanover,
a research manager at Health Industry Insights who authored the report.
"We were particularly impressed with Sage Software," Hanover said. "There
is a perception within the industry that Intergy EHR is just the old Medical
Manager product that Sage acquired in 2006, but that isn't the case at all.
Intergy is entirely new and users are making excellent use of it to achieve
higher quality of care and better outcomes."
During the research, Health Industry Insights independently evaluated
vendors' technology offerings and financial viability, and surveyed vendors
and their customers based on a comprehensive assessment criteria measuring how
well their applications fit market needs. This criteria evaluated general
feature/functionality; reporting and decision-support functionality;
integration capability/interoperability; integration with physician practice
management software; architecture; scalability; breadth of services; quality
of services and support; pricing; and implementation cost.
Sage received high scores in each of those areas. It also earned top
ratings for the likelihood that it would provide a positive ownership
experience for physician practices.
According to Sharon Howard, Senior Vice President of sales and marketing
for Sage Software, "We are honored by our strong performance in Health
Industry Insights' report. It validates our commitment to strong customer
service, and to offering physician practices the most robust and useful
functionality to meet their needs."
Ms. Howard continued, "All of our customers -- whether or not they use the
Intergy suite, including practice management and electronic health records --
have benefited from the features of this product. For example, many customers
who use The Medical Manager by Sage now have the benefit of our Remote
Monitoring System (RMS), originally developed for Intergy, to alert them to
potential performance issues before they arise. To maintain our leadership, we
will continue to make substantial investments in research and development,
support and maintenance."
Health Industry Insights, which will update the list periodically, defines
EHRs/EMRs as applications that:
-- Provide a digital equivalent of the legal, paper-based medical record;
-- Facilitate a provider's documentation of patient encounters;
-- Organize and format information captured electronically in a
computerized patient record or electronic chart; and
-- Include a clinical data repository
