OpTier Announces Support for Microsoft .NET Framework

NEW YORK, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- OpTier(R), a leader in Business Transaction Management (BTM) for the enterprise, today announced it has added support for Microsoft .NET Framework-based applications to the latest version of its award-winning software, CoreFirst 3.0. (Please refer to related announcement, "OpTier Unveils CoreFirst 3.0" at http://optier.com/Site/news_events/press_room.asp?catId=1).

With this latest release, OpTier has expanded its support to include Microsoft's Web technologies for building and deploying Web services, as well as for applications within Microsoft's Internet Information Server (IIS) environment. OpTier now supports most configurations of IIS including version 6.0. CoreFirst can monitor transactions across inbound and outbound communications such as those taking place through ASP, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, Web services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Products and Technologies.

"OpTier's support of .NET provides companies with valuable insight into transactions as they flow through our framework," said Brian Goldfarb, director of the Developer Platform and Tools team at Microsoft Corp. "By providing a real-time view of the .NET infrastructure, OpTier's unique BTM technology complements our strategy of creating a seamless IT network."

CoreFirst provides Business Transaction Management capabilities on the Microsoft .NET Framework to deliver end-to-end visibility of all business transactions, across all tiers, all the time. This is particularly important for IIS-based applications which are responsible for communicating with end users and of relevance to all applications that are distributed across this platform. The visibility that CoreFirst provides within and across the Microsoft .NET environment enables organizations to reduce costs while assuring service levels. Complete visibility into transactions assures that business transactions flow smoothly within .NET-based IT applications and infrastructure, without bottlenecks or outages, for improved end-user experience.

"Once our customers experience the visibility into transaction flow that CoreFirst provides, they are eager to extend that value across their entire IT infrastructure. As a result, we are always looking for opportunities to enhance CoreFirst's support for IT frameworks to best meet the needs of our customers," said Motti Tal, executive vice president of marketing, product and business development at OpTier. ".NET and IIS are just the first steps in our support for Microsoft environments. Throughout the next several months we will further extend our offerings to include additional Microsoft technologies as requested by our customers."
