Oprah Winfrey Refuses To Interview Sarah PalinBy Robert Paul Reyes
"U.S. TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey and her show should be boycotted, the Florida Federation of Republican Women says. Oprah Winfrey has made several campaign appearances on Barack Obama's behalf, and she had him on her show during his bruising primary battle with Sen. Hillary Clinton. Oprah's endorsement of Obama was worth a few hundred thousand votes. Oprah's stamp of approval is worth its weight in gold, if she vouched for "Dr. Quack's Spray On Teeth Whitener", every woman in America would be spray painting her teeth in the morning before going to work. I'm assuming Oprah doesn't want to invite Sarah Palin to her show, because it might be misinterpreted as an endorsement by some people. Oprah is an ardent supporter of Obama, and she doesn't want to do anything to help the opposition. The Florida Federation of Republican Women is way off base; Oprah is under no legal or moral compulsion to invite Palin to her show. Oprah isn't the moderator of a political program like "Meet the Press, she's the host of an entertainment show. Oprah has a right to exhibit bias in her selection of guests, and if some Republicans don't like it they can stop watching her show. "Winfrey said this week that while the Alaskan governor would make a great guest on her show, she would not invite her until the November general election was complete, CNN reported. UPI Sarah Palin is utterly unqualified to be vice-president, but she is a fascinating individual. I look forward to watching Palin's interview with Oprah, after the election, I'm curious to see how she handles defeat.
