Palm Beach County Tourism Prepares: Hurricane Ike
PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Palm Beach County
Convention and Visitors Bureau (PBC CVB) is on full alert and in a position of
preparedness for the potential impact of Hurricane Ike onSouth Florida.
Vital information on storm conditions is continuously being updated and all
sources, including national emergency tracking sites are being monitored.
The bureau's executive team is in active communication with Visit Florida,
Palm Beach International Airport, thePalm Beach County Convention Center and
thePalm Beach County Emergency Operation Center. The PBC CVB is in direct
contact with all of our member hotel and lodging establishments inPalm Beach
County, assessing availability and building a list that includes the key
components of: hotel location with contact information, pet policy and rate
ranges.Palm Beach International Airport is open, as arePalm Beach County
beaches, hotels, restaurants and attractions.
The hotel availability information will be posted and activated on the
bureau's Web site at palmbeachfl.com. The PBC CVB Web site will be the source
to go to for impacted evacuation areas seeking accommodations inPalm Beach
County. We urge all areas bearing dangerous weather conditions and proceeding
with an evacuation plan, to please inform residents and travelers to confirm
room availability directly with the individual hotel property and to be
cautious of highway conditions.
