Stop & Shop Alerts Customers to Voluntary Recall of Hershey's Chocolate Shell Topping
QUINCY, Mass., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Stop & Shop Supermarket
Company, following a voluntary recall by The Hershey Co., removed from its
shelves all 7.25 ounce plastic bottles of Hershey Chocolate Shell Topping
because the product may contain almonds, an allergen that was not listed as an
ingredient.
Upon being notified of the voluntary recall, Stop & Shop immediately
removed all affected production codes of the product from its stores.
The product recalled by Hershey's has a UPC code of # 3400000600 and was
sold nationwide after July 8, 2008. Only bottles that have the code "69N" on
the back of the bottle below the UPC code are affected. Customers who are
allergic to almonds and who still have the product should discard it and/or
return it to any Stop & Shop for a full refund.
