PPC Jumps to #2 for Industry Impact on Nationwide Patent Board Scorecard

EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- PPC, a global manufacturer of connector technology for the cable TV, satellite, wireless and telecommunications industries, rose to the number two spot for industry impact among the top 35 most innovative companies inthe United States, according to the Industrial Components and Fixtures Patent Scorecard published August 19, 2008, in the Wall Street Journal.

"Innovation -- it's that simple," said President John Mezzalingua of the reason behind PPC's success. "We are a company comprised of big thinkers with even bigger ideas, and that translates directly to the impact we're making on the industry. The jump to second place on the scorecard is a true acknowledgement of a company culture rooted in the pursuit of new ideas. The credit goes to the people of PPC and their commitment to putting innovation at the core of everything we do."

PPC's industry impact was so significant that it ranked "too far outside of the range of data points to be charted," according to the Wall Street Journal. With 200 patents to its credit, PPC also saw a rise in its overall ranking of technical strength -- climbing up three spots to 11th on the patent scorecard. This is the third consecutive time PPC has appeared on the Industrial Components and Fixtures Patent Scorecard in the past 16 months. Released by the Patent Board, the scorecard tracks more than 2,500 of the world's top technology firms across 17 industries and ranks the overall strength of their patent portfolio holdings.

With more patents in connector technology than any other company worldwide, PPC has pioneered many of the advancements available in the industry today and is a proven leader in the design and manufacture of connector technology for the telecommunications, satellite and wireless industries around the globe. PPC's innovations include the Universal Compression Connector, widely used by all major cable TV and satellite companies; the wireless compression connector for the wireless industry, and the only locking HDMI connector. Headquartered in E.Syracuse, NY, U.S.A., PPC also has locations inDenmark,St. Kitts andChina. For more information, visit www.ppc-online.com.
