AMERISAFE Receives Financial Size Category Increase From A.M. Best
DERIDDER, La., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AMERISAFE, Inc.
(Nasdaq: AMSF), a specialty writer of high hazard workers' compensation
insurance, today announced that A.M. Best Co. has increased the Financial Size
Category (FSC) of the Company to IX, which designates companies whose adjusted
policyholder surplus totals between $250 million and $500 million. AMERISAFE
was previously in FSC VIII, which designates companies with an adjusted
policyholder surplus between $100 million and $250 million. The FSC increase
applies to AMERISAFE and its wholly owned insurance subsidiaries: American
Interstate Insurance Company, Silver Oak Casualty, Inc. and American
Interstate Insurance Company ofTexas.
AMERISAFE's CEO and President, Allen Bradley, stated, "We are pleased to

will enhance our competitive position in our existing markets and provide us

AMERISAFE's Financial Strength Rating (FSR) remains at "A-" (Excellent)
with a stable outlook. A.M. Best ratings are directed toward the concerns of
policyholders and insurance agencies and are not intended for the protection
