Pet Lovers Prefer Pet Over Partner For Deserted Island

The results should be taken with a grain of salt, because only pet owners were surveyed. But I can understand why some folks would prefer pets over human companionship.
The silver lining of being stranded on a desert island is the peace and tranquility it affords. It should come as no surprise that a person wouldn't want his peace of mind disturbed by his nagging significant other.
A dog is grateful for whatever his master feeds him, he will never bark: Are we going have wild berries for lunch again?
A pet will be happy spending time alone with his owner, he won't be complaining and constantly glancing at the horizon for a ship.
A dog or a cat will poop when the spirit moves him, and joyfully run back to his master. A significant other will come back from "doing his business" grumbling that the leaves she uses to cleanse herself are giving her bum a rash.
And finally spending too much time alone with each other may destroy a marriage, but it will only strengthen the bond between a person and his pet.
