Folsom Police Arrest Four After Robbery
Four suspects were taken into custody following a robbery at a food court in a shopping complex located in the 13000 block of Folsom Blvd. On September 3, 2008, at approximately 5:09 P.M., the Folsom Police Department received a phone call from a citizen reporting a robbery in progress involving at least two suspects. The first officer arrived within 4 minutes and gave chase on foot while directing other responding units to the scene.
Two suspects were located and arrested without incident across the street from the shopping complex, in the 200 block of Iron Point Road. Another was located and arrested at the Iron Point Light Rail station, just to the north of the shopping complex.
The two robbery victims, both 21 year old men from Folsom, were approached by the three suspects inside a restroom. The suspects threatened the victims and demanded personal property, with at least one of the suspects indicating he had a handgun in his waistband. A gun was never actually seen.
One of the suspects led a victim out of the restroom in an attempt to locate more property. When the suspect attempted to take the victim back into the restroom, the victim ran from the scene.
The two suspects then forced the other victim into the parking lot, while telling the victim they were going to steal his car. It was then the first officer arrived and the suspects fled on foot.
The investigation revealed that a fourth suspect, Kenisha Walthall, 19, of Sacramento, acted as a lookout and was arrested for robbery and conspiracy.
Arrested for robbery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, attempted carjacking, terrorist threats, and conspiracy were Stanley Ramsey, 21, of Rancho Cordova, Gerray Martin, 20, of Sacramento, and Blake Bennett, 19, of Citrus Heights. All three suspects were booked into the Sacramento County Jail. Ramsey is also being held on a parole violation.
"This is a classic example of the good that can result when police are able to rapidly respond to a crime in progress and work in partnership with the community to apprehend violent individuals," said Lt. Brian Sather, the Watch Commander during the incident.
