Women's Business Ownership Act 20th Anniversary Celebration

WASHINGTON, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following release was issued by the U.S. Small Business Administration:

WHAT: 20th Anniversary Celebration of the U.S. Women's Business Ownership Act

Reception celebrating the 20th anniversary of House Resolution 5050, the Women's Business Ownership Act of 1988, landmark legislation which created the National Women's Business Council (NWBC), SBA Office of Women's Business Ownership (OWBO), and the Women's Business Center (WBC) program and improved women business owners' access to capital and various resources. Event will include recognition of the "founding mothers" of the women's entrepreneurship community, legislators who were at the forefront of the original passage of H.R. 5050, and current congressional advocates, as well as the unveiling of the "Roadmap to 2020" -- a vision for the future of women's business ownership.
