Chico's Signs Debbie Phelps
FT. MYERS, Fla., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Chico's, the
exclusively designed, private-branded women's clothing retailer, today
announced an endorsement deal with Debbie Phelps, mother of 14 time gold
medalist and swim sensation, Michael Phelps.

Prior to her departure for the Summer Games, Debbie Phelps visited her
favorite Chico's boutique inTowson, Maryland to purchase her entireBeijing
wardrobe. She spent the week cheering her son to record-breaking gold while
wearing Chico's wrinkle-resistant Travelers Collection, novelty jackets and
unique jewelry. Chico's took notice and approached Debbie about a partnership.

Deborah S. Phelps is a dedicated educator, proud parent and principal of
Windsor Mill Middle School inBaltimore, Maryland. She is an active member in
her community working with several local non-profit and educational
organizations throughoutMaryland as well as with national organizations such
as ADHD Moms.
A native ofAllegany County, in westernMaryland, Phelps earned her master
degree in education management and supervision from Loyola College, in
Baltimore, in 1998 and her bachelor's degree of arts in education from
Fairmont State College, inFairmont, West Virginia, in 1973. She is a proud
mother of three children. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling the world,
all types of sports -- especially swimming -- and spending time reading and
reflecting on life. Debbie has aspirations of writing her own book in the
