Silverchair Learning Systems Launches New and Updated Courses
Courses developed and updated to respond to new federal sanitation and nutrition regulations
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In response to new federal regulations regarding sanitation and nutrition in senior care organizations, Silverchair Learning Systems, the leading eLearning provider in senior care, has launched a new course and two updated courses as part of its long-term care and assisted living core curricula. The courses launched on August 29, 2008.
Silverchair's new course, Maintaining Nutrition in the Elderly, was created to cover the changes to 42 CFR 483.25(i) (F325) Nutrition, which becomes effective September 1, 2008. The course covers the process of identifying and assessing each resident's nutritional status and risk factors, evaluating assessment information, developing and implementing necessary solutions, and monitoring the effectiveness of interventions. It is part of the long-term care core curriculum.
The updated courses, Preventing Foodborne Illnesses in the Kitchen and AL Preventing Foodborne Illnesses in the Kitchen, cover changes made to 42 CFR 483.35(i) (F371) Sanitary Conditions, which became effective September 1, 2008.
