Traveling Nurse Company Raises Money for Fifth Year in a Row for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

For the fifth year in a row, CoreMedical Group, the leading health care jobs resource and travel nurse agency, is participating in Light the Night, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening walk that commemorates lives touched by cancer and raises awareness of blood cancers.

CoreMedical Group's walking team, Julie's Core, is headed by CoreMedical Group's Julie McLaughlin, who was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in 2001. Over the last four years, Julie's Core has raised over $100,000. In 2007, Julie's Core had approximately 90 walkers and was able to raise an astonishing $42,000 for LLS. This year CoreMedical Group has a goal of raising $42,500.

"It's such a wonderful feeling to know that so many people come out to support and fundraise for people like me who have had a blood cancer," said cLaughlin. "The money raised helps fund information on blood cancers, support groups, and researchers who are developing cures and less intense drugs and therapies so other cancer patients have a second chance at life."

"The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has helped my family through my toughest struggle and my wish is to help them provide the same or more for all other cancer patients.
