~ UK's largest not-for-profit careers fair taps into a ready workforce who want more out of life by working for the greater good~

London, 2nd September, 2008 - The 'Great and Good' will assemble in London's Business Design Centre in Islington, between October 10 -11 to demonstrate the professional careers and voluntary opportunities available in the not-for-profit sector.  forum3 will bring together talent across all disciplines and provide an opportunity to showcase the world's most diverse range of charities.

The leading annual recruitment event for the third sector, forum3, is an all inclusive meeting place. The attendees list reads like a not-for-profit sector who's who: The Big Issue, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, Disability Now, London Fire Brigade, Met Police, Notting Hill Housing, Parkinson's Disease Society, Peabody Trust, Raleigh, RNIB, Royal Opera House, RSPB, RSPCA, Scope, and for the first time The National Trust and NSPCC. As well as the larger charities, the small, specialist organisations are represented and attendees include policy makers, government ministers, regulators and visionaries from all over the UK. With opportunities to launch fundraising efforts, debate industry issues, engage with candidates for jobs, and learn about the future, forum3 is the industry's not-for-profit networking platform.

"It's difficult to make a complete career change," says John Lees, best-selling author of four books about career change and keynote speaker at forum3 2008.  "Events like forum3 often make the difference between dreaming about a fulfilling job and taking the first step to find one.  The great thing about forum3 is the conversations you have there - not only with others looking to make a change but with people with genuine experience, as well as those actively recruiting into the not-for-profit world.  My advice to anyone thinking about how to transform their life would be to go to forum3 and be inspired, informed, and motivated by the great people you'll meet.  forum3 is the one point of the year where the right people and information are gathered in one place."

forum3, now in its 7th year, was set up to create a welcome environment for charities to demonstrate their achievements and find important new talent.  This aim has remained unchanged and over the past seven occasions of the national event, forum3 has attracted more than 80,000 visitors, from graduates looking to start a worthwhile job to experienced professionals looking for a career change. This year 150 exhibitors are taking part along with thought-leaders and charity sector specialists.

"The timing couldn't be better," says Deborah Hockham, forum3's director. "More and more people are disillusioned with the rat race and are ready to break out of an unrewarding job.  A job for life is no longer a reality. And if you can't rely on your employer for long-term financial security then what's the point of staying in a job that doesn't inspire you. Jobs in the charity sector can now compete in salary, benefits, and challenge. The combination of the people you meet at forum3, the careers guidance and the first look at not-for-profit job opportunities, makes forum3 the highlight of the recruitment year."

Held every October, the two-day event includes a vibrant exhibition and careers fair, a topical forum, free seminars and training sessions.  For the first time, in 2008, there will be a 'Speakers Corner' where charity workers can share their experiences.

The announcements scheduled for release at the event are cloaked in secrecy - fundraising initiatives, career prospects, volunteering opportunities, rebranding partnerships and an insight into the not-for-profit world. The theme of the event is "Love the Week" with a focus on matching the right talent to vital jobs and fulfilling dreams of a worthwhile and rewarding long-term career in not-for-profit.
