Mediware's JAC Signs Distribution Agreement With MDG Medical

Automated Medication Cabinets Extend Accountability and Management to Improve Patient Safety

Mediware Information Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MEDW), a provider of ClosedLoop(TM) clinical systems for blood and medication management, announced that through the Company's UK-based JAC Computer Systems, Ltd. the company has signed a distribution agreement with MDG Medical Inc (MDG) to be the exclusive supplier of MDG's computerized medication cabinets in the UK and Ireland. JAC provides medication management solutions internationally for Mediware. JAC has approximately 200 hospital customers in the United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa.

Under the agreement, JAC will offer a variety of products including specialized cabinets for controlled drugs, night use on wards, and in environments where access to medicines needs to be constantly monitored at the point of issue.

The potential benefits of automation at the front-line include the recording of emergency issues, STAT and PRN doses, inventory monitoring and usage reporting. The MDG cabinets are a proven technology in use by a number of high profile health institutions across the world including Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
