AARP Mounts Job Fair For The 50+ Workforce at Life@50+ Event in Washington, D.C. Sept. 4-6
WASHINGTON, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- At a time of a serious
economic downturn, AARP is holding a job fair at its annual Life@50+ National
Event and Expo September 4-6, 2008 at theWashington Convention Center. This
event will help open doors to those aged 50+ looking for employment by
providing face-to-face time with local and national employers. Additionally,
workforce experts will be on hand with advice and helpful tips on how to
successfully land your dream job.

WHO: Fifteen national and local employers, many of them members of the
AARP National Employer Team, will meet informally with interested AARP members
attending Life@50+ and other job seekers not attending the event. Those not
attending the event will pay a $5 entry fee that will enable them to have
access to the show's exhibit floor where the job fair will be held.
Employers participating include: Home Instead Senior Care, Princess Tours,
Holiday Retirement, Genworth Financial, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Adecco, Right
at Home, CVS Caremark, Robert Half International, Express Employment
Professionals, Bright Horizons Family Solutions, U.S. Internal Revenue
Service, Home Depot, National Older Worker Career Center, and Staples Inc.
WHAT: The employers will provide informal interviews. Staffing agencies,
including Adecco, Robert Half International and Manpower, Inc., and the
American Association of Community Colleges will offer daily job tips
presentations. And RetirementJobs.com, a leading online job search engine for
50+ job seekers, is sponsoring an Internet job search cafe to facilitate
online searches. Bob Skladany of RetirementJobs.com will offer counseling for
50+ individuals entering or reentering the work force.
