Former Presidential Candidate Gary Bauer Available at the GOP National Convention in Minneapolis
WASHINGTON, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- After serving as a senior advisor to the Platform Committee on behalf of Senator John McCain this week, former presidential candidate Gary Bauer will head toMinneapolis-St. Paul, MN, on Sunday for the Republican National Convention where he will be available to the media. Called the "Values Guru" by Rolling Stone Magazine, Bauer will be able to discuss issues related to family, faith and freedom which are crucial to the Values Voter -- a critical voting bloc in this election.
Bauer, a life-long conservative, was a prominent member of the Reagan Administration during Ronald Reagan's entire presidency, serving ultimately as the chief domestic policy advisor to President Reagan. Bauer built up several influential, pro-family organizations and has served in leadership positions for a number of key causes, such as the Citizens Committee to Confirm Clarence Thomas. Bauer joined the race for the White House in 2000, finishing fourth inIowa, and staying in the competition through theNew Hampshire primary. He later endorsed John McCain because of the senator's commitment to appoint conservative judges.
Bauer again endorsed Senator McCain in 2008 because of the need for a strong, experienced leader who will protect our values at home and our national interests abroad.
"I am proud to support John McCain, whose personal courage and commitment can be seen in his defense of his country, of the unborn, of the American soldier and of the American people on every front," said Bauer. "He has been willing to stand up for what he believes, and I believe that strength is what we need in a president."
Bauer is president of American Values, a pro-family advocacy organization and is chairman of the Campaign for Working Families, one of the most influential, pro-family, pro-life, pro-strong defense political action committees.
Bauer can be reached through his media contact Kristi Hamrick, cell number: 571-244-6324, who will be coordinating media for him at the convention.
