Research Firm Will Obtain Americans' Real-Time Reactions to Obama's Acceptance Speech

  Share With Friends

FLEMINGTON, N.J., Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- HCD Research, Inc. announced today that it will use a real-time monitoring tool to obtain Americans' perceptions of Senator Barack Obama's acceptance speech tonight at the Democratic National Convention.

The study, which will be hosted on the firm's mediacurves.com web site, is being conducted by HCD Research and the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion (MCIPO), among self-reported Republicans, Democrats and independents.

As participants view the speech, they will use their mouse to indicate whether they agree or disagree with the content in second-by-second intervals. The real-time results will be viewed by select members of the media, and the final results will be available on www.mediacurves.com approximately one half hour after the speech concludes.

"Soon after the speech, political pundits will offer their take on how Americans reacted to Obama's speech by crafting their own personal spin," commented Glenn Kessler, president and CEO, HCD Research. "Using our mediacurves web site, we will obtain Americans' live responses to the speech with a quantitative tool, before they are influenced by the talking heads."

The study is part of an on-going series of studies to provide the media with a way of comparing and trending Americans' perceptions of the presidential candidates throughout the 2008 Presidential Election.

The Media Curves web site provides the media and general public with a venue to view Americans' perceptions of popular and controversial media events and advertisements.
