Telcordia Thought Leadership Highlighted at Department of Homeland Security Fifth Annual Security Conference
High Visibility Speaking Role in S&T Emerging CyberSecurity Technologies Track at Invitation-Only Event Focused on Network Compliance, Availability and Security

As IP networks continue to become more
ubiquitous than ever, carrying sensitive and mission-critical information,
there is an urgent need to assure IP network security, compliance and
availability. Telcordia, a global leader in the development of IP, wireline
and mobile telecommunication software and services, is leading the industry
in meeting this need and recently participated in the Department of
Homeland Security's Fifth Annual
Security Conference & Workshop to discuss advancements in the field.
Rajesh Talpade, chief scientist, Advanced Technology Solutions, Telcordia,
presented during the S&T Emerging CyberSecurity Technologies track that was
held at the event.
The session showcased several new security solutions funded by the
Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology that aim to remediate
federal and commercial cyber security vulnerabilities. Each session
presenter had completed cyber security technology R&D projects and been
selected for participation based upon the maturity of their technology
solution, relevance to government needs, the apparent commercial viability
of their approach, and their business leadership. These technology
solutions represented cutting-edge innovations with the potential to
improve the security of the nation's cyber-infrastructure, while also
reducing the costs required to protect cyber assets from attacks.
The annual Security Conference aims to create a culture of security through
communication, using a wide variety of informative and relevant lectures,
sessions, and hands-on workshops and the opportunity to share information
and best practices toward securing the homeland.
"In an age where IP network failures can grind worldwide communications to
a halt, comprehensive and in-depth configuration analysis of IP networks is
essential to detect and eliminate inevitable configuration errors before
they are exploited by cyber attacks, discovered by auditors or cause a
mission-critical application to fail," said Talpade. "Additionally, as IP
network managers aim to maximize network uptime and maintain compliance
with regulations such as the Federal Information Security Management Act
(FISMA), it is imperative that they have the best toolset at their disposal
to achieve this goal."
In July 2008, Telcordia introduced Telcordia®
IP Assure to transform the costly, labor-intensive job of network error
detection and remediation into a simple, automated process while improving
the security, regulatory compliance, and high availability of enterprise IP
networks. For more information about Telcordia IP assure, please visit
