The 2009 conference is shaping up to be the biggest and best ever. Dr. Paul Liao of Panasonic will give a keynote talk on the role and use of digital storage in consumer electronic products.

Dr. Liaos talk is titled, "The Future of Content Storage," and will include discussion of the transition from DVD to Blu-ray and trends in SD flash memory for CE products.

Dr. Liao is vice president and chief technology officer for the Panasonic Corporation of North America. He is responsible for Panasonic's technology direction and R&D in North America, and he is also a member of the Boards of the Panasonic Foundation and the Panasonic Display Laboratory of America. Dr. Liao has served on the Board of the Internet Home Alliance, the Information Technology Industry Council, the Consumer Electronics Association Board of Industry Leaders, and as a member of the FCC Technological Advisory Council. Prior to joining Panasonic, he held a number of positions at Bell Communications Research Inc. (Bellcore) and Bell Laboratories. He is a past president of the IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society and is a recipient of the IEEE Millennium Medal.
