Back By Popular Demand: Fresh & Easy Taurino Beer and Grill Pack Promotion for Labor Day

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is offering a special end-of-summer 'grill pack' with nearly five pounds of high quality beef patties, mild pork sausages and lightly seasoned chicken and a 12-pack of Fresh & Easy's Taurino Cerveza beer all for under $10 -- perfect for entertaining over the long weekend. Back by popular demand from the Fourth of July holiday, the company is offering this promotion through Labor Day weekend.

Fresh & Easy's USDA-certified grill pack includes a mixture of eight hand-trimmed and lightly chili-seasoned chicken thighs and drumsticks, four freshly ground mild Italian pork sausages and four quarter-pound, 80 percent lean beef patties. This Labor Day special lasts through September 2nd and includes a 12-pack of Taurino Cerveza, Fresh & Easy's own Latin-style beer and a Monde Section award-winner. Both the Taurino beer and grill pack retail for $4.99 each during this limited time promotion.

Whether it's a celebration of time off work, the beginning of football season, or to take in the last few days of summer, Fresh & Easy's Head Chef Mike Ainslie shares his tips for grilling up the perfect barbeque feast:

-- For top notch, and still simple BBQ, marinate your meat the night
        before
-- For a dry rub, add your meat (chicken thighs, or tri tip) to a
large Ziploc bag and add 2-3 tablespoons of dry rub. Seal the bag,
roll it around on the counter and shake it well, to coat the
surface of the meat and penetrate it slightly. Then place this in
the fridge and let it sit until the next day to cook.
-- For wet marinades the technique is the same. Place meat into a
large plastic Ziploc bag, and then add 1/4c marinade per pound of
meat. Try to use marinades that don't have a lot of sugar, as
these will burn on the grill. If you don't have a favorite store
bought marinade then you haven't tried one of our new F&E
marinades. If you want to make your own, use oil, with crushed
garlic, fresh herbs, salt and pepper and any spice you want.

-- The thinner the meat, the higher the flame
-- For thin cuts of meat, chicken tenders, thin fish fillets
(catfish, mahimahi), skirt steak, thin burgers (less than 1/2")
you need to get the grill very hot and sear the fillets so that
they get color before they cook through and become overcooked.
-- For regular chicken breasts, thick burgers (1/2"-1"), steaks, or
thicker fish (ahi, swordfish, etc) use a medium high flame and
watch the color doesn't get too dark as the item cooks through.
-- For big roasts (tri-tip) or whole chickens use a medium high flame
at first then reduce to medium/low to finish.

-- Baste with sweet sauces when the protein is almost fully cooked
-- If you like a sweet BBQ sauce, like our new Whiskey BBQ sauce,
don't apply it until the last 10 minutes of cooking, as all the
sugar will burn and leave you with a charred and inedible dish.
Rather once the item has a nice color, add a brush of sauce and
turn, and keep doing this until the item is coated and nicely
            caramelized.

    -- Don't forget the veggies
-- Once you've got the grill hot, don't be afraid to throw on some
veggies for a healthy addition to the summer table. For easy
grilling try zucchini, cut lengthwise into planks, Portobello
mushrooms, onions and peppers cut into wedges, and green onions
grilled whole. Once these are grilled, toss them all together with
some fresh chopped herbs and you'll have a spread worthy of a
            photo shoot!

-- For professional burgers and dogs, grill the buns
-- If you toast the buns on the grill for a few moments, it really
makes a big difference, as the crunchy bite of a grilled bun is
the kind of touch that people usually have to pay for.
