Mitt Romney: John McCain Deserves His Many Mansions
By Robert Paul Reyes
"Former governor Mitt Romney, perhaps continuing his audition to be John McCain's running mate, attacked Barack Obama today for making an issue out of McCain's many homes.
Speaking to reporters at a lunch sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor, Romney said that while McCain deserved his houses because of the 'hard work' of himself and his family, 'Barack Obama got a special deal from a convicted felon.'" Political Intelligence/Scott Helman
Let's examine how McCain obtained his many mansions, and the reader can be the judge if McCain deserves his vast real estate holdings.
*McCain's first wife Carol Shepp was a model, but in 1969 she had an auto accident that robbed her of her mobility and her beauty. In 1979 while he was still married to Carol, McCain started dating, Cindy Hensley, a woman who is now worth over $100 million. While Carol was still suffering from her crippling injuries, McCain pestered her for a divorce, which she finally granted in 1979. McCain married Hensley in 1980, and almost three decades later they are still married. That's the sordid story of McCain's hard work that netted him all his estates. *Info obtained from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_mccain
Romney is not defusing McCain's problem of being unable to remember how many houses he owns by slinging mud at Barack Obama. Obama did not get a special deal from, Tony Rezko, the convicted felon. Although Obama was never charged with any crimes in that real estate transaction, he admitted that he made a mistake by doing business with a person of unsavory character.
McCain's housegate problem will dog him for the remainder of the campaign. McCain would be well-advised to instruct his clueless surrogates never to bring up the issue again.
