Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis Announces Fall Tour Dates

The world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will embark on a 2008 fall tour entitled Big Band Bash that will begin and end in their hometown of New York City. The virtuosic 15-piece band will travel across the United States and to Toronto, Canada, performing classic selections from the jazz big band canon.

From September 18-20, the orchestra, with special guest Ahmad Jamal, will kick off Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2008-09 season, the organization’s most expansive season yet, at their home, Frederick P. Rose Hall.

They will then take the Big Band Bash tour to East Lansing, Michigan on September 24 and to Detroit on September 27 where the band will premiere a Wynton Marsalis composition for symphony and jazz orchestra, commissioned by Michigan State University and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
