Birmingham's Shelley Stewart Achieves Full Ownership of o2ideas
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- o2ideas has announced that
legendary radio personality, business leader and humanitarian, Shelley
Stewart, has assumed full, 100% ownership of theBirmingham-based advertising
and public relations company.
Stewart, who currently serves as President and CEO to the 75-person firm,
initially opened the agency as a silent partner with Cy Steiner in 1967.
According to Stewart the move came as an extension of his plans to redesign
and reposition the agency's structure and leadership for growth.
Stewart said, "Gandhi once said, 'Be the change you wish to see in the
world,' and for us that change begins today. We are striving every day to
become an organization that's not only known for our award winning strategy,
public relations and creative work, but also as a company built on the
strength of our people. All of our people."
"Agency reputations are often defined by one or two big personalities or
egos, but o2ideas is changing that stereotype," said Stewart. "I've always
believed that treating people with dignity, respect and equality will help you
go far in business and in life. When you surround yourself with smart people
at every level of the company and believe in their abilities, it's impossible
for any one ego to trump the greater good of a company."
In addition to the change in ownership, Stewart also announced the
addition of several new clients over the recent months. "We've been honored to
do business with and add clients like Toys 'R' Us, Associated Builders and
Contractors ofAlabama, Electrosteel Corporation and the Red Cross Project
Share to our roster," said Stewart. He added, "I've always believed that if
you run a smart organization with good people, business will come. And for
o2ideas, that's exactly what we've experienced lately."
