Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), St. John's University, and Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Partner to Assist Wounded Warriors
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- In their effort to ensure this
generation of veterans is the most successful and well-adjusted, Wounded
Warrior Project (WWP) partnered withSt. Johns' University School of Risk
Management, major Insurance leaders & the Insurance Industry Charitable
Foundation (IICF) on a three-day "Warriors to Work" Insurance Industry
Workforce Development pilot program. The program gave 11 wounded warriors,
most of whom were from theNew York Metropolitan area, the opportunity to be
trained by two of St. John's University's most respected professors, Albert
Beer and Richard Bennet. Among the plethora of subjects discussed were
classes on Risk and Risk Management Process, Underwriting and Ratemaking. An
additional component of the program matched the warriors up with human
resources representative for insurance companies such as AIG, Chubb, ACE, and
Benfield to work on interview skills and techniques.
This "Warriors to Work" program is another effort by Wounded Warrior
Project to give our nations honored warriors the skills, tools and contacts
they need to transition their lives in a positive manner once their military
service is over.

The wounded warriors who attended are continuing down a path towards
