Liquidation Deals on Name-Brand Sportswear Arrive at Value City

  Share With Friends

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning today, Value City shoppers can take advantage of outstanding deals on name-brand sportswear and activewear from three of the nation's top online and catalog retailers.

Originally featured in catalogs renowned for top-quality outdoor apparel, sportswear and traditionally styled clothing for the whole family, the multi-seasonal and fall fashions include polo shirts, t-shirts, turtlenecks, tanks, knits, pants, shorts and more.

Thanks to a special agreement with the manufacturer, Value City's 65 stores have scored their biggest buyout yet - over 400,000 items chain-wide - with men's and ladies' separates priced at $9.97 or less; $4.97 or less for children's wear. In most cases, this represents a savings of 60 percent or more off the original retail price, and shoppers will often find the manufacturer's price tag still on the garment.

Hit with the double whammy of high food and gas prices, plus declining home values and a gloomy economic forecast, shoppers have reined in their spending and are seeking bargains more aggressively than ever before. On the flip side, struggling department stores, facing slower-than-predicted sales, are reducing or canceling orders, leaving manufacturers with ever-increasing inventories.

Value City's merchants have the buying experience and relationships that enable them to obtain these goods at deep discounts. As a result, Value City is filling their stores with scores of closeouts and buyouts on high-quality, name-brand merchandise, priced 30 to 70 percent less than department stores, catalogs or online merchants.

Because they sell at such low prices, Value City cannot advertise the famous name brands included in this incredible apparel liquidation. As this is a one-time-only deal, they urge the public to shop now for the best selection.
