ROEL(R) Completes Construction of Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa

ROEL Construction Co., Inc. has completed its largest new construction project to date, The Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa located on Bob Hope Drive. The 552,000-square-foot project consisted of a 16-story, 340-room hotel next to the existing casino with meeting rooms, pre-function convention space, complete spa, and back of house areas. This tower features 314 deluxe guest rooms, 24 executive suites, two presidential suites, a state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor conference center with over 10,000 square feet of meeting space, back of house areas, the spacious 10,500-square-foot Sunstone Spa, and resort-style pool. The hotel is now being heralded as one of the premier resort destinations in the Coachella Valley.

Work was completed while the existing casino stayed in operation. To accomplish this feat while keeping the safety of the patrons the number one priority, temporary partitions were constructed and moved several times to isolate work from the occupied space. Temporary roads were also built re-routing public traffic to allow for new construction of the porte cochere and entry.

Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is the owner, represented by Executive Director of Construction Rob Donnels. Pearson Architects, Inc. was the architect, with interior design by VOA Associates. Consultants to the design team were Lochsa Engineering and Surveying, Jehn Engineering, and MSA Engineering Consultants. Code compliance was handled by Broadspec Inspection Services. ROEL representatives included Bill Carter as project director, Chris Heese and Jano Montoya as senior project managers, Jason Albrecht and Ben Pia Jr., as project managers, Dan Partridge as assistant project manager, Abe Foglio, Sandra Cuevas and Paula Montore as project engineers, Maynard Zillmer as general superintendent, Fidel Olvera, Matt Kaiser, Tony Morris, Phil Lemoine, Mark Jemison, Paul Martin, Eric Riveness and James Archer as superintendents, Sherman Gaines as regional safety director, Lance Scott as onsite safety coordinator, Brandon Line as contract administrator, and Bonnie Jenkins as project coordinator.
