Dan and Kathelen Amos to Accept the American Cancer Society's 'Visionary' Award


COLUMBUS, Ga., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac Chairman and CEO Dan Amos and Aflac Foundation President Kathelen Amos today accepted the American Cancer Society's "Visionary" award for 2007-2008. Mr. and Mrs. Amos received the award on behalf of Aflac during a morning ceremony at Aflac's worldwide headquarters inColumbus, Ga.

The award was presented by American Cancer Society Senior Vice President for the State of Georgia Georgette Porter in recognition of the company's three major fundraising events inMuscogee County held between September 2007 and August 2008, including a golf tournament, the Relay For Life and the Crystal Ball. All told the company raised almost $536,000 to help support cancer research in theColumbus region.
