AMERIGROUP Community Care Sponsors Back-to-School Festival for New York City Children

The AMERIGROUP C.A.R.E.S. (Community Assistance & Resources to Empower Students) Festival will benefit local children and families by supplying items such as: book bags, pen and pencil sets, writing paper, notebooks and numerous other school supplies all free of charge.

"Back-to-school is an important time for the community, and we are always seeking additional ways to get involved in the neighborhoods where we work and serve," said Robert Wychulis, Chief Executive Officer of AMERIGROUP Community Care inNew York. "All of us at AMERIGROUP Community Care are excited about this event and look forward to establishing an annual community tradition with the Back-to-School Festival."

Children and their families will also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of other activities such as health screenings, seminars, demonstrations and numerous sports activities. Some of the other partners participating in this event include: Radio Disney, FDNY, NYPD, ACDP -- Community Association of Progressive Dominicans, Children's Sports and Fitness Expo, Community Healthcare Network and the American Diabetes Association.
