New Mandate for Recruiters Explored at Recruiting 2008 Conference and Expo

  Share With Friends

Traditional methods to identify the right people and fill open positions just aren't effective in overcoming today's talent dearth, according to Kennedy Information, the leading research firm covering corporate and not-for-profit recruiting. In Orlando on November 16th to 19th, Kennedy Information's Recruiting 2008 Conference and Expo examines this phenomenon against the conference theme "The New Recruiting Mandate: Defining True Talent."

"Today's recruiters must make talent decisions based more on intangible attributes, and not rely solely on past experience to gauge candidate value," says conference chair Anna Brekka. "Through identification of the critical characteristics of a successful employee for a given position, recruiters can then focus their talent acquisition efforts on those attributes rather than prior job experience."

Twice a year, the Recruiting 2008 Conference and Expo brings together the largest gathering of thought leaders in corporate recruiting to share the latest strategies and best practices that deliver top talent in a tight market. The Orlando event is the 17th iteration of the event and offers a series of seven specialized tracks that address specific needs of today's recruiting professional. The event all features two Summits targeted to the critical topics of Sourcing and Retention; both critical issues considering today's talent market

Keynoters for the November event include Rose Dougherty, Staffing Director at LeapFrog; Steve Bonomo, Head of Global Recruiting and Steve Fogarty, Recruiting Captain, adidas.

Joining them in presenting some 30 hands-on sessions are over 40 top professionals comprising a virtual "who's-who" of the recruiting industry. They include recruiting leaders like Tim Brown, Manager, Staffing, Imaging & Information Technology Sector, Siemens Medical; Chris Forman, CEO, AIRS; Lauryn Franzoni, Vice President & Executive Editor, ExecuNet; Glenn Gutmacher, Recruiting Researcher, Microsoft; Ryan Loken, Senior Manager of Talent Services, Walmart Stores; Steve Lowisz, President & CEO, Qualigence; Chris Maikisch, Classified Advertising and New Media Manager, Daytona Beach News-Journal; Carla Major, Vice President, Human Resources & Community Relations, Harrah's Casino & Hotel; Chris Metzler, Esq., Associate Dean, Human Resources and Diversity Studies, Georgetown University; Michael Mullen, HR Director, Recruitment Strategies, Mayo Clinic; and Chris Murdock, Executive Sourcer & Knowledge Manager, Yahoo.

Sponsors for the Orlando Recruiting 2008 Conference and Expo include Qualigence, Arbita, Linkedin, Bounty Jobs, SGA Executive Tracker, Simply Hired, The Right Thing and Zoom Info.
