The Kingdom of Macedonia Was Hellenised Before Alexander The Great
By James Bailey
Ted Kosta, author of Macedonia is and Always Was Separate From Greece's knowledge of the ancient Greek world is very limited. His ascertain that "You are wrong; Macedonia is and always was separate from Greece. Macedonia was a kingdom and Greece was a democracy (see the obvious deferent's)" is actually incorrect and shows a distinct lack of knowledge of classical history. There were a number of political systems used within the Greek world including monarchies, oligarchies, democracies et al.
Further, the Kingdom of Macedonia was Hellenised before Alexander the Great and continued to be a Hellenic kingdom and region right through to the current era. Leaving aside the issue of FYROM, the old Macedonia actually falls within the borders of Greece today. The whole issue of FYROM's name is not the inclusion of "Macedonia" in it, but rather that "added extra" to differentiate it from the other Macedonia regions in Greece and Bulgaria.
Why FYROM finds it so difficult to add "Upper" or "New" or whatever to their name is beyond me, and only re-enforces the perception that insisting on calling their country "Republic of Macedonia" [which only covers about 30% of the entire Macedonia region] has future expansionist ambitions.
