Stick or Treat, Win the Feat and Create the Costume That's the One to Beat!

AVON, Ohio, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the National Retail Federation's 2007 Halloween Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey, consumers spent $1.82 billion on costumes. But, why spend a lot of money on a boring, generic costume that looks like so many others? Wouldn't it be better to create a one-of-a-kind costume that nobody else has and gives you a chance to win cash for your original design?

In its third year, the Duck(R) brand duct tape "Stick or Treat" Halloween Costume Contest challenges participants to get creative and make or accessorize a costume out of duct tape. And not to worry, these homemade costumes require no sewing!

Beginning on August 18, 2008, entrants can submit a photo of their costume to Duck(R) brand duct tape for a chance to win the first place $500 cash prize. Accepted entries will be posted online at www.stickortreat.com and first, second and third place winners will be announced around October 29, 2008.

Last year, Stan Johnson fromWaukesha, Wis., earned first place by turning to his workbench for inspiration - donning a handy duct tape "Tape Measure" costume. The sticky creation, made from rolls of gray, yellow and black duct tape, outdid 49 homemade ensembles fromthe United States andCanada.

Duck(R) brand duct tape is available in 20 colors and patterns, and with colors like Island Lime and Blaze Orange, camouflage and chrome, the choices for costume creativity are endless!
