Tidal Software Appoints Don Pate as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales
Seasoned Enterprise Software Executive to Drive IT Automation Leader's Sales Efforts in New Markets

Tidal Software(TM), a leading provider of
application scheduling and performance management software, today announced
that Don Pate has joined the company as senior vice president of worldwide
sales. Pate will report to Flint Brenton, Tidal's president and chief
executive officer. He joins Tidal from Neon Enterprise Software, a leader
in data management solutions, where he was president and CEO. At Tidal,
Pate will drive ongoing efforts to introduce the company's products and
solutions to current and emerging markets.
"We're delighted that Don is joining us," said Brenton. "His extensive
experience in key North American and global markets will be invaluable as
we continue to bring products such as Tidal Intelligent Automation for
Exchange Server to market and build on the solid and successful base we
have established with our current application performance management and
scheduling solutions. His ability to create and guide strong sales
organizations and his sophisticated knowledge of enterprise markets, will
serve us well as we move forward with new products and into new markets."
Pate brings more than 25 years' experience of successfully marketing and
selling enterprise technology solutions to Tidal. At Neon Enterprise
Software, he was instrumental in driving the development of products
designed to improve disaster recovery (DR) readiness and to enable secure,
audited databases in a mainframe environment. Prior to his tenure at Neon,
he was president and CEO of Tonic Software, a provider of web applications
management solutions, where he successfully completed two strategic
acquisitions and later sold the company to Altiris, a leader in IT asset
and network security management. Earlier, Pate was with Neon Systems from
1995 through 2001, where he served as senior vice president and general
manager of the Enterprise Subsystems Management division and as vice
president of worldwide sales, vice president of international sales, and
vice president of worldwide marketing. During his tenure there, he grew
sales revenues from $5 to $20 million and led the company's successful IPO.
Pate has also held several sales management positions at BMC Software, Inc.
He started his career at IBM, where he held a variety of sales positions
over the course of 10 years with the company. Pate has a B.S. in economics
and psychology from Houston Baptist University.
"Tidal Software has distinguished itself through truly innovative IT
automation solutions. The company has demonstrated that it understands what
enterprise datacenters need and delivers on those needs even before IT
operations have defined their requirements. I look forward to leading the
efforts that will expand Tidal's already strong global markets."
