The presidential candidates have spent a lot of time talking about issues dear to our hearts. However, they have yet to discuss the crushing $53 trillion debt that threatens to render the government impotent to solving some of America's most pressing problems.

If America's next president does not act to fill the financial hole, programs such as education, environmental protection, and national security could be stretched paper thin. In absence of real government action, Americans would have to pay double their current taxes in the years to come.
