Global Rescue Leads Security Evacuations from the Republic of Georgia
BOSTON, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- A 62 year old woman from the Republic of
Georgia with U.S. ties is among the evacuees safely escorted out of the former
Soviet republic by Global Rescue amidst heavy fighting between the Russian and
Georgian militaries.
Global Rescue, a worldwide medical and security evacuation and crisis
response service, was contacted by the woman's family fromTexas. Other
clients, including private citizens and companies, have also contacted Global
Rescue requesting assistance and advice as the situation inSouth Ossetia and
the surrounding area has unfolded.
Global Rescue quickly assembled and deployed a Quick Response Team to the
region to safely escort the woman and others across the border. Utilizing
connections with indigenous personnel for safe escort throughout the country,
Global Rescue is actively performing additional evacuations and rescues. The
evacuees are being brought to a central rallying point at a classified
location. Global Rescue's operations team is working with the appropriate
authorities to expedite a visa application to bring the woman home to her
family in the U.S.
