Zanda Panda Bakeware Cooks Up Kids' Crafts And Art For Dessert

Sculptor's kid-friendly and nature-themed bakeware designs inspire culinary crafts and artistic adventures

KENSINGTON, Conn. (EWORLDWIRE) Aug 14, 2008

A lively parade of prancing unicorns, a bevy of butterflies with scrollwork and flowers, and a kaleidoscope cake pan which makes eight heart-shaped slices of cake describe some decidedly different bakeware designs from Zanda Panda. Sculptor Sandra Lira created the decorative bakeware to be elegant enough for a garden party yet cute enough for kids. Ideas, recipes and step-by-step instructions for using the intricately detailed cake pans and toppers in innovative ways can be found on the bakeware packaging and at the Zanda Panda Web site at 'http://www.zandapanda.com'.

In addition to traditional baking, the brightly colored bakeware can be used for arts & crafts projects, cold-molded concoctions and novel desserts like No-Bake Backwards Cakes(TM), which kids can make all by themselves, using edible clay and their favorite fillings.

ZandaPanda.com features easy to make desserts and kid-friendly recipes for tasty treats like cupcake toppers, lollipops and embossed PB&J sandwiches. For more grown-up tastes, nature-inspired designs for topping cakes, cheesecake and decorative, dimensional pie crusts are offered. Creative crafts projects such as cast paper appliques for notecards, party favors and scrapbooking can also be found at the website. Upcoming demos will include 3-D calzones, making keepsake boxes and hair ornaments, even soap and candle making - and just for fun, sculpting lessons for kids.

A tempting attraction to the Zanda Panda Web site is a forum for sharing ideas, tips and recipes. "We want to cultivate a sense of community and foster a sharing, creative environment," stated Lira.

The key to creating the finely detailed bakeware lies in the unique properties of food-grade silicone. "I've been using silicone molds for years to create bronze and resin sculpture," said Lira. "It faithfully reproduces even the most intricately detailed designs." Silicone's flexibility and a unique, state-of-the-art manufacturing process allow the sculptor to create designs that cannot be reproduced in rigid metal, glass or ceramic bakeware.

The bakeware is made of flexible, FDA approved, 100 percent food-grade, platinum-cured silicone, with a temperature range of -40 to 446 degrees Fahrenheit (-40 to 230 degrees Celsius) and is oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. More information on silicone can be found on the company's Web site, 'http://www.zandapanda.com'.

ZANDA PANDA Specialty Bakeware may be purchased at gourmet kitchenware stores such as Kitchen Kapers' thirteen locations, through online shops and directly from 'http://www.zandapanda.com/products.asp'.
