Ville de Chateauguay: CITSO Adjusts it Routes

CHATEAUGUAY, QUEBEC - (Marketwire - Aug. 14, 2008) - (Marketwire - Aug. 14, 2008) - Following an irreversible decision by the AMT to no longer receive busses serving the Conseil intermunicipal de transport du Sud-Ouest's (CITSO) routes 1 and 28; as a result of the terminal reaching its maximum capacity; CITSO authorities asked the firm of Roche-Deluc, specialists in transportation, to study the situation and to make appropriate recommendations in order to find the best possible solution.

As the new arrangement starts on Monday, August 25th, a temporary solution has been adopted. The busses that serve routes 1 (Valleyfield-Montreal) and 28 (Chateauguay-Montreal) will make four stops along Rene-Levesque Boulevard; between Lucien-L'allier and Montagne, between Drummond and Stanley, between Peel and de la Cathedrale as well as between Mansfield and University. Along with these four stops, there will be three new stops (one on Beaver Hall, and two on Saint-Antoine) once the authorities of the City of Montreal give their approval. The president of CITSO and Mayor of Chateauguay, Mr. Sergio Pavone, is confident that a positive response will be received from the authorities of the City of Montreal shortly.

"At CITSO, we have been working to find the best possible solution to this situation and, with this arrangement, we believe that we have succeeded. In fact regardless of the fact that we have had to leave the Terminal du Centre-ville," Mr Pavone pointed out "this change will permit many users to disembark and board the bus much closer to their place of work." Mr. Pavone also added that the situation will be followed closely and that if changes are needed, CITSO will adapt.
