Mary-Kate Olsen Wants Immunity in Heath Ledger Case

By Garrett Godwin

A law enforcement official stated yesterday that federal agents seek to question Mary-Kate Olsen on how Australian actor Heath Ledger got his hand on a couple of painkillers that led to his accidental overdose in January of this year.

Olsen's lawyer, Michael C. Miller, stated that his client is innocent and has cooperated with the government with what she knows.

"We have provided the government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr. Ledger's death" he said, "and the fact that Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed.

The law enforcement official also stated that the young actress wants immunity from prosecution before speaking to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Their agents, the official went on, suspect both painkillers oxycodone and hydrocodone inside Ledger's system were received with fake prescriptions or more illegal means.

Oxycodone is sold as OxyContin, and hydrocodone is sold as Vicodin, and several more drugs that includes anti-anxiety medication and sleeping pills were prescribed illegally by California and Texas doctors.

Olsen, a close friend of Ledger's, was the first person called by a masseuse that founded the 28-year-old's lifeless body in his Manhattan apartment.

The New York Post has reported yesterday that the New York office of DEA has declined any statements on the stalemate between Olsen, and there has been no response yet to a message left for her spokeswoman.
