Dalu Poly Project PTP On-Time Delivery in Portland, USA

July 12 witnessed the ceremonious handover, between Dalu Semiconductor Material Company and Silicon Chemical Corporation (SCC), of the Process Technology Package (PTP) in Portland, Oregon, USA for the Dalu Polysilicon Project 2500 T/Y. The PTP was officially handed over to Dalu and CH2M HILL, a world famous engineering company. Mr. Lu Houping, the Dalu Group CEO, took flight all the way to Portland to attend the handover ceremony, at which also present was the CH2M's project team.

In contrast with the process tecehnology used in some well-known poly plants in the world, this PTP has many important technical improvements in the key systems, like TCS production, distillation, purification, effluent gas recovery (EGR) and environmental protection (EP), enjoying lower investment and operating cost, improved efficiency, environmental protection and better product quality. Reflecting the top level of the international polysilicon technology introduced into China, this PTP is the achievement of concerted efforts between American and Chinese experts, and will lay a solid foundation for Dalu Poly Project, with a final capacity of 18,000T/Y, to become a world class poly plant.

Dalu Poly plant will produce high purity EG and SOG polysilicon materials. By now, procurement has been finished for the major equipment like CVD reactors to be used in this project, the main plant buildings are under construction on site in Inner Mongolia, and will be completed and put into operation in 2009. Related with this project, a 10-year long term presale contract has been signed with Space Energy Corporation (SEC), Japan.

As Mr. Philips, SCC President and CEO, put it, "Dalu Poly Project is a very rare international cooperation project, SCC feels fortunate to have selected Dalu as its own partner. SCC will provide to Dalu the most advanced polysilicon purification technology which is of low energy consumption and with state of the art environmental controls. We hope to make our contribution, by way of this project, to the new energy development and environmental protection in China." Jeffrey Tang, Vice President of Dalu Group, said: "SCC's completion and handover of its PTP is symbolic of a most critical milestone for Dalu Poly Project during its construction period. We will go on keeping our close cooperation with SCC, CH2M and PPP-E, and will guaranty the on-time commercial operation of 2500T/Y Project (Phase I) by the end of 2009, under the support of Inner Mongolian Provincial Government."
