Mattress Firm to Help Rock the Bayou

In addition to sponsoring the event, Mattress Firm locations throughout the area will provide tickets for the event to its customers as well. Beginning August 1, 2008, the company will give two tickets to the Rock the Bayou Festival to any customer who makes a purchase of $399 or more while supplies last.

The Rock The Bayou festival features rock legends Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, Bret Michaels and his Rock of Love Tour, Queensryche, Twisted Sister, Skid Row, Great White, Ratt, Dokken, Warrant (with its original lineup), Yngwie Malmsteen, Slaughter, Y&T, Dangerous Toys, Little Caesar, Jetboy, Bullet Boys with Steven Adler, Lynch Mob, Britny Fox, Pretty Boy Floyd, Enuff Z'Nuff, Black 'n Blue, Gilby Clarke, Firehouse and Broken Teeth. All told, more than 50 bands will play two stages over four days.

While the lineup of performers for the event is impressive, ultimately it was the promoter's promise of providing support for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter that caught the attention of Mattress Firm executives. "$1 from every Rock The Bayou ticket purchased will go to the National MS Society," according to Ali Fazeli, president of The Fazeli Group, which is promoting and producing the event that is expected to draw as many as 50,000 people each day.

During the four-day event, Mattress Firm will provide several relaxation tents for exhausted concert goers to refresh and relax. The tents will feature complimentary massage therapists as well as 100 mattresses which were donated by Sealy and Simmons. Mattress Firm will also sponsor several Hydration Stations throughout the festival grounds. Following the event, Mattress Firm will donate the mattress from the relaxation tents to a local charity in need of beds.

This isn't the first time that Mattress Firm and The Fazeli Group have teamed up to support the National MS Society. Representatives from both companies also came together earlier this year to form a 67 member bicycling team to participate in the annual BP MS150 ride fromHouston toAustin that raises funds for the National MS Society. Team Dream reached its fundraising goal of $100,000, more than doubling the team's 2006 total of $46,351.70. At the halfway point, Team Dream riders, top fundraisers from other teams, and event volunteers slept on new mattresses provided by Sealy. The next day, the mattresses were picked up by Mattress Firm, and were delivered to Boys & Girls Harbor.
