When a woman hears that word she gets a certain glow in her eyes and a twinkle for her engagement ring; seeing that she has been planning this day since she was about 5 years old. When a man hears this word he may panic, be excited for the bachelor party, or very rarely be excited for that special day. When the FOB (father of the bride) hears that word, not only does his body quiver BUT his bank account quivers also.

There are many details that go into planning a wedding. It can take some women several years to plan, or it can take women several months to plan depending on how long the couple wants their engagement to be. Concentrating on one aspect of the wedding that a girl has been dreaming about is the dress. Once the perfect dress is found everything else just falls into place.

To pick the right wedding gown you must know many details the come with the dress. With the silhouette comes, A-line, ball gown, trumpet/mermaid, or princess. The neckline can be jeweled, scoop, high neck, sweetheart, strapless or spaghetti straps. The bride must choose a desired waistline that is distinguished by bask, dropped, empire, or natural. She must also choose if she wants jewels, lace, or none. The color of the dress is very important; there are many colors to choose from like champagne, ivory, beige, or white. Other details to consider when buying the dress is the hemline, the sleeve length, train, fabric, and last but most important the price.
There are many top wedding dress designers that are being used by all the celebrities these include, Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, and Badgley Mischkato to name a few. Vivienne Westwood is also a well known designer; she is recently noted for the dress worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the movie Sex and the City.

Each of these designers has a prominent name in fashion and wedding gowns. Their dresses have graced the covers of many wedding magazines, and walked down the aisle on many joyful brides. Vera Wang has been designing wedding dresses for many years after her figure skating, and being the senior fashion editor for Vogue magazine. She has a long list of celebrities that have worn her beautiful gowns including, Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson, Thalia, Jennifer Lopez, Sharon Stone, and Victoria Beckham. Her dresses are all very classic, flowing, and silky which all bring a beautiful silhouette to the bride.

Monique Lhuillier started designing wedding dresses when she was not able to find the wedding dress she wanted. She has designed several celebrity dresses also including two gowns for Britney Spears, Christine Baumgartner, and Guilana Depandi. Her designs are very classic, but she likes to make ruffles on her gowns and experiment a lot with a different silhouette.

Another important addition to the fashion of the wedding day is the wedding ring. Bridal jewelry can seem so similar the decision can be daunting. Designers such as Scott Kay, Ritani, and Tacori are among the finest in bridal jewelry. When choosing a ring remember that this piece will be with you always, and that this is as much an investment as it is a purchase.
