Folsom Arson Suspect Arrested
Detectives arrested a suspect today in a July 5th, 2008 arson of a Folsom shopping complex. On July 5th, 2008 at 1:15 A.M., Folsom firefighters responded to a fire on the roof of a structure in the 190 block of Blue Ravine Road.
After the blaze was extinguished, fire personnel located material at the scene associated with arson. Folsom police officers arrived and assisted with the investigation, eventually contacting a subject, Jung Hang Suh, of West Sacramento, on an adjacent roof. The subject had apparently fallen while climbing on the roof and was subsequently transported by Folsom paramedics to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the fall.
A cooperative investigation between Folsom Police and Fire personnel revealed that Suh, 61, was the owner of one of the businesses in the complex, Blue Ravine Cleaners, and was experiencing serious financial difficulties with the business. Folsom detectives believe that Suh started the fire in an attempt to recoup his financial losses and separate from the business.
On 7/22/08 at 9:00 A.M., Folsom detectives arrested Suh at his West Sacramento home for felony Arson. Suh was booked in the Sacramento County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
Damage to the structure was estimated in excess of $25,000.
